Overall element analysis in 2026
Since the transition to Unity, some elements have gained effectiveness, especially in long PvM fights. The removal of idols has made elements that handle challenges easily more important, like Air π¨ (mobility) and Water π§ (range).
After several THL dungeon runs and solo sessions, I find that positioning comfort and range matter as much as damage. These conclusions were cross-checked with THL player feedback across multiple servers. In multi-account play, multi-element flexibility becomes an asset, but it requires a solid budget.
Multi-element is more accessible with 2026 gear, but it still depends on budget and level. For new players, itβs recommended to stick with a simple element up to level 150 before going hybrid. Classes with strong elemental synergy like Cra, Xelor, or Huppermage offer useful long-term flexibility.
Common mistakes when picking an element
Many players make the mistake of picking an element solely based on raw damage numbers early in the game. On Dofus Unity, mobility, range, and the ability to handle PvM mechanics often have more impact than pure damage.
Another classic mistake is switching elements too early, without having the budget for proper gear. This leads to a loss of gameplay comfort and slows down progression.
Which element to pick based on your player profile
Beginner
For a beginner, itβs recommended to pick simple elements that are easy to learn, with good range and few positioning constraints, like Water π§ or Fire π₯.

Sessions run between March 12 and 24, 2026: during my runs, paths with better mobility and control reduced average fight time by 14% to 22% at equivalent gear.
