Archmonster Unity guide: capture & Ochre organization
This guide covers the essential methods to efficiently capture archmonsters and progress on the Eternal Harvest. You'll find field tips, rotation strategies, and a quick-search directory to check a name in seconds.
This guide is independent, written for informational and educational purposes for the Dofus community. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Ankama Games.
Capture tips are based on Dofus Unity 2026 and field spawn tracking.
On Unity, hunting is smoother but competition is fiercer. Success depends on strict organization, precise tracking, and good soul stone management. The goal is to turn a long quest into steady progress.
Use Dafous tools to track your captures and avoid wasting duplicates.

Why this guide exists
Without a clear method, the Ochre grind gets frustrating fast. This guide exists to structure your hunting, save time, and make the quest doable even with limited playtime.
Introduction: the Ochre challenge on Unity
With the switch to Dofus Unity, archmonster hunting has evolved. These unique creatures, recognizable by their flashy names and distinctive auras, are the backbone of the Dofus Ochre quest given by OtomaĂŻ. Capturing all 286 specimens takes discipline, patience, and solid map knowledge.
Proven capture techniques
1. Speed-mapping
Use high-mobility classes (Sram, Crâ, Eliotrope) to scan zones. On Unity, the smooth map transitions let you check a zone like Champ de glace or Lacs enchantés in under 10 minutes. Don’t waste time fighting regular mobs — the archmonster aura is visible instantly.
2. Managing respawn timers
An archmonster’s respawn timer ranges from 6 to 18 hours (fluctuating based on server population). After a server maintenance, all archmonsters respawn at the same time. That’s the ideal window to burn through your soul stones.
3. Archmonster tokens
Don’t forget you can trade duplicates for tokens at the NPC in front of Otomaï’s house. This lets you fill gaps in your collection without relying solely on luck or the market.

Trading tips
Archmonsters aren’t just a quest — they’re a whole economy. Unity brings a fresh market:
- Step packs: it’s often more profitable to sell archmonster “packs” per quest step (e.g. step 20 to 30) than to sell them individually.
- HL zone archmonsters: mobs like Snailmetalika the Garagician (Snailmet) or Don Kizoth l’Obstiné (Zoth Master) are worth millions because their zones are dangerous and less farmed.
Economic context in 2026
Archmonsters are a market of their own. Rare captures sell for a lot, especially for the later Ochre steps. Active servers drive prices up, while off-peak hours let you hunt respawns more peacefully.
Selling in step bundles is usually more profitable than selling one by one. Also keep a reserve to fill your own missing captures.
Pro tips
In my routine, I work with a fixed route per zone to stay consistent. I prioritize windows right after maintenance, capture every archmonster even if it's a duplicate, then decide between trading and reselling based on market demand. I avoid wasting soul stones on side fights and I watch trade channels to sell step packs when demand is high.
Real experience report (Archimonstres)
Server week from March 17 to 23, 2026: during my regular sessions, profit from reselling captures and packs ranged between 420,000 to 980,000 kamas depending on zones and timing.
What didn't work for me: running loops that were too long without checking actual respawn status. I wasted travel time and reduced my useful captures.
What worked for me: keeping circuits short, prioritizing dense zones, then selling in step bundles instead of dumping all soul stones individually.
FAQ
Q1: How many archmonsters do you need to capture?
A1: The quest requires the full collection of Eternal Harvest archmonsters.
Q2: Do archmonsters respawn quickly?
A2: Respawn varies, but it’s usually more favorable right after maintenance.
Q3: Should I keep my duplicates?
A3: Yes, they’re useful for token trades or reselling.
Q4: What’s the most useful tool?
A4: A reliable tracking sheet and the Dafous Ochre tracker.
Overall analysis
Archmonster hunting is an endurance quest. With a solid method and thorough tracking, it becomes predictable and profitable. It’s a long grind, but very rewarding on Unity.
