Why Dafous exists
Dafous.app is first and foremost a community editorial project before being a suite of tools.
After more than ten years on Dofus, I found that progression becomes easier when information is clear, tested and explained methodically. Forums are often scattered, wikis rarely up to date, and video guides don't suit everyone. Dafous fills this gap by offering structured, verified and directly accessible content from any browser.
My journey
I have played Dofus for over 10 years, with phases of slow progression, rushing, breaks and comebacks. This experience lets me understand the needs of beginners and advanced players alike.
I started on classic servers before switching to mono-account. I leveled every profession to 200, completed the Ochre Dofus quest, explored all divine dimensions and tested nearly every class in both PvM and PvP. These years of play are the foundation of every guide published on Dafous.
Editorial method
Every guide published on Dafous follows a strict process:
- Research — Information is cross-referenced between Ankama's official data, community feedback (Discord, forums) and my own in-game tests.
- Writing — Content is written clearly, without unnecessary jargon. Each section answers a concrete player question.
- Verification — Numbers, formulas and strategies are tested under real conditions before publication.
- Updates — Guides are revised after each major game update to stay relevant.
The goal is to produce reliable content that the reader can apply immediately, without having to cross-check multiple sources.
Why help players
The guides are written to save time, avoid common mistakes and give a clear direction. The goal is to provide a simple read, free from unnecessary jargon.
Dofus is a deep game with hundreds of interlocking mechanics. Without a structured guide, a beginner can waste weeks grinding inefficiently or investing in the wrong gear. Dafous helps avoid these pitfalls by offering tested and optimized paths.
Dafous tools
Beyond guides, Dafous offers over 30 free tools covering every aspect of the game:
- Economy — Kamas calculator, community marketplace, craft workshop with profitability analysis.
- Progression — Build generator, Pet XP calculator, Ochre Dofus quest tracker, smart level-based progression.
- Combat — Drop, XP, AP/MP removal, dodge and lock simulators.
- Encyclopedia — Full bestiary, equipment encyclopedia and quest catalog.
All tools work without registration and are optimized for mobile. Data is extracted from official game files and updated regularly.
Multilingual content
Dofus brings together players from around the world. That's why Dafous guides are available in three languages: French, English and Spanish. Each translation is adapted to the player's cultural context, not simply translated word for word.
Long-term vision
The project aims to build a lasting knowledge base: guides, methods and analyses that remain useful over time. Editorial quality takes precedence over quantity.
Content is updated regularly to stay consistent with Dofus changes and community feedback. Each game update is analyzed and affected guides are revised within days.
Editorial independence
Dafous.app remains independent, without affiliation or official support from Ankama Games, to maintain a free and transparent editorial line.
No content is sponsored. Equipment, class or strategy recommendations are based solely on in-game testing and data analysis. The site is funded through non-intrusive advertising (Google AdSense) and charges no fees to users.
Transparency
Content published on Dafous.app is written independently. No compensation influences the recommendations or analyses provided.
Tool source code is documented, calculation formulas are explained in associated guides, and data sources are cited when relevant. If the community reports an error, the correction is published promptly with an update note.
Community
Dafous is not an isolated project. An active Discord server allows players to exchange, report bugs, suggest improvements and share their experience. Community suggestions directly influence the project roadmap.
